Life on Mars
A downloadable VR Experience for Windows
With Life on Mars our goal is to create a VR application, aimed at a young audience, that simulates what we imagine a hypothetical space mission to the Martian surface might be.
The project stems from a preliminary phase of research on the science that is being developed every day that will allow us to reach the red planet. We wanted to enrich the experience as much as possible with notions based on real facts, information about new technologies, and curiosities about Mars, with the goal of making it as interesting as it is educational. Here some articles we've followed:
During the research, applications or experiments aiming to simulate the environmental conditions of Mars, both accurately and approximately, have been identified.
The controls on Oculus are:
- Left joystick to move
- Right joystick to rotate
- A to open or close the menu
- Grab to interact with object

As main 3D artist I worked on most of the models you see on screen! I also lend a hand in coding some features of this software, also integrating sound effects! Ilaria Pasini |
Cheers! My job was mainly the art direction of the whole project, from the idea to the realization. I worked on character design for the NPCs and wrote the core shader to achive a cartoonish style! plummycake |
